About Honda Type R
Type R is Honda's badge for its most focused cars, with less weight, sharper suspension and high-revving VTEC engines. The DC2 Integra Type R (1995) and EK9 Civic Type R (1997) were Japan-only legends, followed by the turbocharged FK8 (2017) and FL5 (2022).
The S2000 (1999–2009) isn't a Type R, but its 9,000 rpm F20C belongs in the same conversation. The DC2 and EK9 are now prime 25-year-rule imports.
